The Gardner City Community Building Block Grant steering committee met Oct. 28 to consider reallocating unspent CDBG funds, receive project updates and continue public hearings on proposed transfers to the Greenwood Pool pavilion project. The committee approved moving $102,447 from the Main Street demolition account to the Greenwood Pool demolition project, continued a larger proposed transfer from the School Street School account pending a revised cost estimate tied to Build America, Buy America implementation, and reviewed potential new projects including a community garden expansion and rules for multiunit housing rehabilitation using CDBG funds. Staff also updated the committee on the ongoing sale and disposition process for 205–213 Main Street.
