The Grosse Ile Township Board met on Oct. 27, 2025. The board amended the agenda to move two personnel items—appointments to police chief and deputy—up for immediate consideration, deleted an action item on a wastewater treatment macerator and approved zoning and parks ordinance updates. The board appointed Deputy Todd Brozek to succeed the retiring police chief (effective Jan. 23, 2026) and promoted Lieutenant Kevin Counts to deputy chief; both appointments were budgeted and approved. Public commenters urged township leaders to preserve recreational activity at the airport hangar (Island Athletics/pickleball); staff said lease negotiations were ongoing and a special Airport Commerce Park meeting to consider a lease was scheduled. The board approved a redevelopment liquor license for the Osprey LLC and adopted a new parks ordinance for Centennial Farm Recreation Area. Staff also briefed the board on a cross-connection/water-survey program and recent lead-service-line testing and replacements.
