Burke County public information officer Chris White posted a recorded message saying the county was notified that November SNAP benefits will not be delivered until the federal government reopens. The county said it is coordinating with local food banks and volunteers to help residents; names and hours of participating food banks will be shared online and via social media. White said more than 13,000 Burke County residents depend on SNAP benefits.
