West Aurora School District 129 Board of Education met on Oct. 6, 2025. The board recognized St. Mark's Lutheran Church for a playground partnership, approved the consent agenda, and approved purchase of a neighboring home at 134 S. Glenwood Place for Freeman Elementary parking ($300,000). Staff and students presented a proposal to switch to "keeper" graduation gowns for the Class of 2026. District staff presented a multi‑phase capital plan for West High campus improvements (fields, parking, turf, stadium lighting, sidewalks) with preliminary cost estimates and a proposal to study classroom modernization districtwide. The board heard a new student‑support policy (Policy 7255) aligned with Article 26a of the School Code and community and student reports.
