The New Canaan Board of Selectmen met Nov. 3 and approved a series of routine municipal contracts and purchases, including membership dues to the Western Connecticut Council of Governments, repairs to town athletic bleachers, purchase of a stand-up sidewalk snow machine, a pest-control vendor transfer after a business sale, elevator inspection and testing, and a change order to add a mezzanine to a new cold storage building. The board also approved tree work, appointed Maria Magliacano to the Health and Human Services Commission, and voted a five-day unpaid suspension and last-chance agreement for a town employee. Department of Public Works provided updates on leaf collection, upcoming road work on Route 106 and other facilities projects; the town received an Eversource energy-efficiency rebate.
