The Carbondale Bike, Ped and Trails Commission held its November meeting virtually and in person. Commissioners approved minutes, heard a multi-hour presentation and public feedback on the Chalkos/Chacos Park master plan (design, parking, water feature, funding and next steps), discussed prioritizing bike/ped projects for 2026 (including reinstating separation on Hendrick and West Main, CDOT crossings on Highway 133 and the need for engineered solutions), received updates on wayfinding and signage work, and elected Rick as vice chair by voice/show of hands. Staff noted a failed Land and Water Conservation Fund grant application, ongoing undergrounding of utilities as phase 1, and plans to seek GOCO funding and other grants for construction documents and early phases.
