At an event at Wolfson Childrens Hospital in Jacksonville, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced $30 million in state funding for pediatric cancer research through the Cancer Collaborative Research Incubator. The grant will distribute $7.5 million each to four specialty pediatric hospitals over five years: Wilson Childrens Hospital (Jacksonville), Nicklaus Childrens Health System (Miami), Johns Hopkins All Childrens Hospital (St. Petersburg), and Nemours Childrens Hospital (Orlando). State health leaders emphasized expanding clinical trials, recruiting pediatric oncology talent, and improving access to care including a home-delivery chemotherapy pilot.
