Chair called the meeting to order; Board member (speaker 2) moved to go into closed session citing NCGS 143-318.11(a)(1),(a)(3),(a)(6) and statutes for confidential student and personnel records and to consult with counsel; motion seconded, amended to add subsection (a)(8) and approved. This motion set aside the later public business until after closed session.
The Lee County Board of Education convened for its regular meeting. The board voted to enter closed session to discuss confidential student and personnel matters, received a facilities condition assessment from Bureau Veritas and an update on the districts strategic plan and accountability data, approved a consent agenda and several plans including low-performing school improvement plans and the capital improvement plan, and approved an amendment to the superintendents contract in closed session.
