The City of Parkland Community Advisory Board met to set next meeting dates and finalize criteria and funding for the boards scholarship program. The board voted to hold its January meeting on Jan. 13, 2026 (subject to quorum confirmation) and agreed to solicit $2,500 donor scholarships while allocating the city's $4,000 to form two $2,500 awards after a private $1,000 pledge from a board member's firm brought the fund to $5,000. The board also set eligibility criteria: applicants must be Parkland residents who are graduating high-school seniors, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, at least 50 hours of community service, and demonstrate leadership, innovation or collaboration (or have launched a community-service initiative).
