Hamilton County Commission held an evening meeting Nov. 4, 2025, that opened with a public hearing on a petition to form the Windy Ridge Residential Infrastructure Development District for improvements to Eldridge Road. Developer representatives described a proposal for up to 300 homes and off‑site road and waterline work financed by a special assessment lien and bond; commissioners and residents raised questions about bridges, septic suitability, soils, fiscal risk and the scope of assessments. After public comment the body moved into routine business, approving a bundle of resolutions, and passed an emergency allocation of unrestricted opioid settlement funds to local food banks (amended to add Red Bank Community Food Pantry). Several members and commenters also raised concerns about potential changes to Enterprise South Nature Park during public comment.
