President Theresa Taylor opened the full board meeting and announced the RFP agenda item on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) consulting services; she called for roll call to confirm participating board members.
The California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) board conducted interviews of six finalists for a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) consulting contract and voted unanimously to award the contract to Shannon Kelly Ray Consulting LLC. The board reviewed preliminary scores, applied a small-business preference where applicable, conducted oral interviews, and then assigned interview scores that combined with preliminary totals to produce a ranked result. Staff was directed to begin contract negotiations with the top-ranked finalist and, if negotiations fail, to move to the next highest scorer.
