Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners met on Wednesday, Nov. 5 for a regular session. Public comment included tributes to the late attorney Gideon Kaufman and appeals from residents seeking managed overnight parking for people living in vehicles near Brush Creek. The board approved an amended intergovernmental agreement first reading with Aspen Fire for fleet services, adopted an ordinance accepting a conservation easement at Little Ditch Ranch, confirmed a sales-tax distribution formula, accepted a legacy-planning grant for the Financial Empowerment Center, and set/continued several land-use hearings. The board also held a detailed, hours-long first reading on proposed text amendments to the Valleys of Capitol Creek and Lower Snowmass Creek Overlay District; staff and the Snowmass caucus were directed to refine provisions on irrigation, lighting and seed mixes before second reading.
