Salt Lake City Historic Landmarks Commission met to consider procedural updates, an extension request for a previously approved new-construction certificate, several enforcement/modification requests for a completed infill project, and three new construction/relocation proposals including a large multiunit project and two projects at Tracy Aviary. The commission postponed adoption of updated policies & procedures, granted a one-year extension for a previously approved project at East 300 South, approved partial modifications and enforcement remedies for 136 S. 700 E, approved a new 113-unit building near the former B’nai Israel site ("The Frederick"), and approved two Tracy Aviary items (new garden pavilion/indoor bird show and relocation of an office house). Several public commenters raised enforcement and inspection concerns and asked for clearer standards on salvaging historic fabric and relocating historic resources.
