The Middletown Common Council met a day early because of Election Day to receive department reports, hear mayoral updates and community recognitions, and approve a slate of routine and project-related resolutions. Major substantive items included a discussion of the Middletown Emergency Food Assistance Program and potential use of city funds under a declared emergency, updates and a vote on intermunicipal water and wastewater agreements with the Town of Goshen and related revenue projections, and multiple budget and capital-related resolutions that the council approved unanimously. The mayor and staff also highlighted downtown economic development, a $30,000 donation for Thrall Park improvements from Run for Downtown, and progress on the ONW/Recap redevelopment and transit center projects.
