The Taunton Municipal Council met in its council chambers on Oct. 21, 2025. The meeting opened with routine committee business, including approval of payroll and accounts payable warrants and a $7,800 transfer to pay a prior-year invoice. During public input, multiple residents urged the city to seek noise and idling mitigations and quiet hours at the new South Coast Rail East Taunton station; the council asked the mayor’s office to seek updates from CSX and the MBTA. The council also voted to refer an Elections Office incident report to executive session (date set for Oct. 28) and scheduled follow-up on several constituent requests, including an expedited traffic-safety review of the Sao Paulo/Round/Hodges Street intersection.
