Methuen City Charter Review Committee met Sept. 18, 2025, and approved several amendments to Article 10 (officers, severability, periodic review) including changes to officer titles, screening-committee appointments, and language on vacancy after felony conviction; committee also began a lengthy debate over placing a Department of Law in the charter and how outside counsel is authorized.
