Clay County School Board held its organizational and regular meeting on Nov. 6, 2025 at Fleming Island High School. The board elected Erin Skipper chair and Ashley Gillhausen vice chair, set its monthly meeting schedule, approved policy and bylaw revisions and routine consent items, and heard an extended public-comment period focused on teacher and support‑staff pay, staffing shortages (notably bus drivers), and concerns about voucher-related budget impacts. Superintendent Broski described state funding shortfalls and a local fiscal gap tied in part to private-school vouchers. Several district recognitions and awards were presented, including an Art in the Capitol winner and the district’s principal of the year.
