Presiding Justice (chair) called the meeting to order, explained microphones and screens will be used, and noted Judge Dodson left his gavel; told participants Miss Maxwell can pull up statement-of-operations and budgets on the screens.
Faulkner County budget and finance committee reviewed departmental budget requests for 2026, advanced most court and county operating budgets with a proposed 3% cost-of-living adjustment, discussed ARP re‑appropriations to meet federal spending deadlines, and heard requests and questions on victim services, maintenance and facility repairs, PSAP consolidation impacts, and emergency squad funding. Several items were tabled for follow-up (including certain probation, public defender and emergency-squad budgets) to allow staff and affected departments to provide clarifications. The committee adjourned and will resume with sheriff and remaining office budgets on the next scheduled meeting.
