Chair Leanne Wood opened the USDB standing committee meeting and stated the date and focus; called the meeting to order and handed the floor for introductions.
The Utah State Board of Education USDB standing committee met Nov. 10 and advanced several policy updates: it postponed consideration of policy 4002 to December for advisory council recommendations; amended and approved complaint-handling and hotline response language to require an acknowledgement within two business days; approved an updated student assessment policy to align with state law; and approved student power-tool use policy and consent form. Public commenters urged board engagement and raised a retaliation concern after families exited USDB services.
