Chair Carrie Stuckey called the meeting to order and took roll; several positions present (Carrie Stuckey, Denise Marion, Tom Jones, Kim Ford, Vicky Biggs, student representative Kelly Boyer) and ex officio Councilmember Eric Marshall attended; Position 3 is vacant and Position 4 absent. Established quorum for business.
The Oak Harbor Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission met to discuss trail maintenance at Scenic Heights, possible speed and safety measures for e-bikes on shared trails, multiple options to provide pickleball courts (temporary nets vs. permanent conversions at Sumner or Fort Nugent), and minor business including bylaws revisions and subcommittee updates. Commissioners voted to forward two options on pickleball to city council (temporary courts at Sumner and Fort Nugent, or permanent conversion at Sumner) and unanimously recommended new bylaws to council. Staff will bring funding options and a council report in the next budget cycle.
