On Nov. 10, 2025 the Cannon Falls Planning Commission held a public hearing on a proposed ordinance to create a Fair zoning district for the Cannon Valley Fair. Dozens of residents raised noise, property-value and process concerns; the fair board defended its financial need. The commission postponed action to December to allow further community input and revisions. The meeting also included an informational update on enforcing grading plans before returning $2,000 construction deposits for new homes.
