Chairperson Sandy Griffiths opened the Nov. 10, 2025 meeting, reviewed the agenda and described the public hearing process: staff presentation, commission questioning, applicant comments, public comment, applicant rebuttal and commission discussion. She stated the item was discussion-only and there would be no commission vote tonight.
The Prescott Valley Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on Nov. 10, 2025, about a request to amend the general plan to allow a 40-acre aggregate (borrow) pit called “Government Tank” to be reclassified from Village PAD A1 (residential) to industrial. Residents and neighborhood groups debated impacts including blasting, dust/silica, water use, haul-road crossings and remediation; the applicant and operator described mitigation and reclamation plans. The commission took no recommendation (discussion-only) and scheduled further review; commissioners also approved minutes and elected new chair and vice chair.
