Committee Chair Mary Jo Smith called the meeting to order, welcomed attendees and called roll (Mary Jo Smith, Nanette Witsack, Christine Dolais, Michelle Williams; Rachel Hulbert joined as ex officio). Chair reviewed meeting protocols and public comment process.
The Wallingford-Swarthmore School District Education Affairs Committee met Nov. 11, 2025 to receive an update on multi-year curriculum implementation (elementary and secondary programs, literacy and math pilots) and to review proposed 2026–27 and preliminary 2027–28 school calendars. District staff addressed a posting/notice error and described implementation timelines, professional development, assessment plans and data reporting. Board members and community members asked about pilot design, disaggregation of results for historically underserved students, costs and scheduling of holidays and parent-teacher conference days.
