The Fairbanks North Star Borough Planning Board held a work session on Oct. 15, 2025 to review access management and lot-configuration principles under FNSB code 17.56.010F. Borough transportation staff presented research and local case studies (College Road, Badger Road, Palmer–Wasilla corridor, Mat-Su) showing how driveway access and subdivision design affect safety and capacity. Board members discussed how to balance individual driveway variance requests against long-term roadway safety and coordination with the Alaska DOT.
