The Fairbanks North Star Borough Trails Advisory Commission met on Oct. 27, 2025; public commenters urged limits on large off‑trail vehicles and opposed proposed easement sales for commercial snowmachine tours in residential areas. Staff presented grant applications (FLAP, RTP) for Chena Lake, Tanana Lakes and Chino/Chena River reroute projects and commissioners approved letters of support (later amended to encourage use of cold‑climate trail hardening practices). Commissioners opened a discussion about potential borough weight/width limits and a commercial permitting process for use of borough trails and agreed to form a publicly noticed subcommittee to study options.
