Cookeville City Council on Nov. 6, 2025 voted to send a proposed commercial-subdivision zoning amendment back to the planning commission for further review, approved a resolution to pursue a referendum on a roughly 275-acre annexation, approved stronger hotel-occupancy tax enforcement changes, authorized a $2.43 million, 10-year ERP contract plus $227,700 in implementation consulting, and renewed the city’s Medicare Advantage plan for retirees.
