Mayor Frank A. Yokoyama called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., invited Pastor Rick Westra of Trinity Christian Reformed Church to give the invocation (Pastor Westra led prayer), and led the pledge of allegiance. Mayor welcomed attendees and introduced the meeting format.
The City of Cerritos City Council adopted a condensed guidebook for elected and appointed officials with amendments preserving a 3-minute standard for public comment, dissolved the Lehi Freedom Ring Committee to create a City Celebrations Committee (current members to continue), and directed staff to establish a Senior Services Commission; the meeting also included a business spotlight for Birmingham Controls Inc. and public comments raising cell‑coverage safety concerns and ideas to monetize pickleball courts.
