At an organizational meeting of the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners, the board voted to keep current officers and most organizational assignments intact and later approved Commissioner Bowles' appointment to the Hillsborough Expressway Authority after a 5–2 vote; Commissioner Wilson said she will pursue removing an appointee who recently voted to raise property taxes.
