The Valdosta mayor and council met May 22, 2025, held a second public hearing and adopted the fiscal 2026 budget, approved multiple procurement and infrastructure actions (traffic controllers; Inner Perimeter Road utilities contract), adopted a cost‑recovery tapping fee for a new lift station, approved a quitclaim deed, and made several board appointments. Public comment urged use of the Craig Center as an emergency shelter.
