Sumner County convened an ad hoc committee to study long-term funding and organization of volunteer fire departments serving the unincorporated areas. Members set a regular meeting schedule, elected a vice chair and voted to table detailed funding proposals until January while staff and chiefs collect budget, asset and call-volume data.
