Austin ISD held a public hearing and regular voting meeting on Nov. 20, 2025, where the superintendent presented required TEA "turnaround" plans for dozens of campuses, proposed consolidations and program relocations (notably several dual-language programs), heard many hours of public testimony opposed to closures, and the board approved the TEA turnaround plans and a set of program/consolidation actions after extensive Q&A and amendments.
