Chair Sarah Bridal called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m., named committee members present (board members Opperman and Sottel) and introduced staff present: Dr. Warren (Director of Strategy), Heather Peters and Lisa Beck (finance), Jennifer Sleighbank (HR), Tamara Sweeney (facilities) and Ben LaSavoy (transportation).
The Portland Public Schools Finance, Personnel and Operations Committee met Nov. 24 to review a proposed multiyear transportation plan including potential Metro partnerships, a monthly financial update with recent grant awards, a facilities capital overview tied to a 2016 assessment with an $84M backlog estimate, and routine personnel/policy items. The committee discussed trade-offs around bell times, walking distances, crossing guards and capacity constraints for any Metro partnership.
