The St. Mary’s County Planning Commission held a Dec. 1 work session on the draft Saint Mary’s 2050 comprehensive plan, focusing primarily on the transportation chapter (pedestrian networks, sidewalks, bicycling, interparcel connections, access management, transit and airport-related policies) and the start of a review of public facilities and infrastructure (water, sewer capacity, wastewater treatment planning). Commissioners and staff debated mandatory vs. flexible language for developer requirements and flagged follow-ups on MPO coordination, sewer service-area mapping and capacity.
