At its Dec. 1 meeting, the Board of Estimate and Taxation approved a $163,500 contingency transfer to cover registrar of voters budget overruns tied to expanded early voting, new tabulators and related training and security costs. The board discussed turnout, staffing and whether future budgets should adjust for expanded early voting requirements.
