Passaic City Council held a lengthy public hearing on a proposed amendment to the citys rent-stabilization ordinance on Aug. 5, 2025; council voted to set the measure (reducing the cap from 6% to 3%) for second and final reading on Sept. 2 after extensive public testimony. The council also adopted a separate ordinance changing disabled parking rules and reviewed progress on the new downtown parking deck.
