At its Oct. 7, 2025 regular meeting, the Taft City Council advanced an update to the municipal code (Ordinance No. 854-25) aimed at expanding prohibitions and enforcement tools for public safety and nuisance conduct, approved a Taft Area Transit fare increase resolution, and heard routine recognitions, department reports and a consent calendar. A closed session on anticipated litigation was scheduled.
