Elko County School District board held its December meeting: student recognitions and community partner acknowledgments; presentations on school and program impacts (Communities in Schools); a major tribal contribution and update on Owyhee (Oahe) school funding; approval of bids including Elko High boiler replacement; transportation and special services updates; auditors presented the FY24-25 audit with a qualified opinion on compensated absences; the board approved budget augmentations and began work on a budget committee to address a multi-million-dollar revenue shortfall and potential consolidations.
