The Nevada Gaming Control Board held an Aug. 7, 2025 workshop on proposed amendments to Nevada Gaming Commission Regulation 5.2 covering gaming salons. After extensive industry testimony and enforcement concerns, the board voted to recommend amending the draft to set a $20,000 minimum front-money/credit threshold (with poker buy-in and chair-waiver provisions) and to allow the chair to grant lower thresholds for experienced licensees.
