Brockton City Council on Dec. 8, 2025 held its annual tax classification hearing and voted to retain a residential shift factor of 1.75 after rejecting a motion to change the factor to 1.73. Council also referred a $1,609,443 transfer to address Brockton Redevelopment Authority deficits back to the finance committee pending itemized details, and approved multiple grant acceptances and appropriations.
