Gates County Board of Commissioners held a special meeting to open a public hearing and unanimously adopt a one-year moratorium ordinance on development approvals for data centers and related high-capacity facilities to allow staff and legal counsel time to draft protective regulations; the board also approved a letter to the state auditor about school-board finances and two small grant budget amendments.
