Chair Amy Sherrill opened the meeting, explained speaking rules and the agenda order (staff comments, proponents, opponents, rebuttals, board discussion, motion/second, vote) and noted appeals to Knoxville City Council must be filed with Plans Review and Building Inspections within 15 days; she then asked staff to call the roll.
The City Board of Zoning Appeals heard multiple variance requests, public comments and appeals. Several variances were approved (including a duplex setback and a garage addition), while others were denied (including a storage-yard buffer reduction, a mixed-use drive‑through layout, a drug treatment clinic parking reduction and an unpermitted driveway). The board also denied an appeal of the zoning administrator's interpretation of how building coverage is calculated.
