Chair Craig called the meeting to order and staff took roll; commissioners Light, Boswell, Young, Gattis, Hazeltine and Chair Craig were recorded present. The pledge of allegiance was led and the agenda order was approved by voice vote.
The Redondo Beach Planning Commission voted to deny a coastal development permit and related density bonus concessions for a proposed 49-unit mixed‑use condominium at 401–417 South Pacific Coast Highway after commissioners said the record lacked objective evidence—most notably a parking/utilization study—showing reduced commercial parking would not harm coastal access or public safety, including emergency response. Staff, the applicant and dozens of residents and advocates gave lengthy presentations and public comment before the 6‑0 denial.
