At its Dec. 17, 2025 meeting, the Newcastle Planning Commission adopted an annual housekeeping ordinance and spent the bulk of the meeting reviewing proposed updates to the Critical Areas Ordinance, including new stream buffer guidance, a nonconforming-structures approach and a plan for a January public hearing and February recommendation to city council.
