The Yakima School District Board met Nov. 18, 2025. The board voted 4–0 to authorize placement of a $200 million capital bond on the April 28, 2026 ballot to rebuild Hoover and Garfield elementaries and make district-wide upgrades; the meeting also included reports on graduation rates, the district's improved fiscal position, approval of school improvement plans, and public comments urging new buildings and mental-health support.
