The La Porte Board of Public Works and Safety met Jan. 6, 2026. The board swore in a new assistant fire chief, heard city department reports including a major Lennar residential proposal for 300 homes, reviewed water-infrastructure projects and well drilling, approved routine payroll and claims, accepted a police captain's resignation and approved vehicle safety upgrades and nonprofit service agreements.
