The Fairfax City Council met Dec. 9, 2025. The meeting opened with a moment of silence and the Pledge, and the city recognized police, fire and emergency management accreditations and several proclamations. Major agenda items included a NOVA Parks Gateway Regional Park update, an introduction of a $4.6 million supplemental appropriation for the George Snyder Trail (public hearing set for Jan. 13, 2026), a public hearing on the Germantown Road multimodal project, acceptance of the FY2025 ACFR, and adoption of the city'026 legislative program.
