A dedication ceremony in downtown New Rochelle marked the installation of a plaque and the presentation of a commemorative poem honoring enslaved people tied to the city. Speakers included Jared Whitaker of developer RXR, Linda Tarrant Reid of the Lincoln Park Conservancy, Mayor Yadira Ramos Herbert, Westchester County poet laureate Felicia Villanueva and poet Rashawn J. Allen; music and an invocation accompanied the unveiling.
