Johnson County School Board met in Mountain City on the evening of January 6, 2026. The board heard a report on school performance and TISA outcome bonuses, approved agenda and consent items, voted to use state outcome funds to pay $500 staff bonuses, approved using Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents' Day as instructional days if needed, named the Armory building for Corporal William C. ("Billy") Mosier, and adopted two small state-required policy changes.
