The Kenai Airport Commission met Jan. 8, 2026. The meeting included election of chair and vice chair, an update on a summer runway rehabilitation project that will close the primary runway and use Taxiway Alpha as a temporary, FAA-directed VFR-only operation, discussion of the 2026 work plan (moving 2025 goals forward) and an operations report including an Alaska Airlines diversion and possible C-17 'lights out' operations.
