The Fire and Police Commission testing and recruiting committee discussed proposing promotional preference points for community volunteer service and for leadership/FTO training, reviewed police recruitment progress (1,800+ applicants in 2025) and demographic/test pass-rate trends (PRT challenges for women), noted expiring psychological vendor contracts and a planned RFP, and considered a rule change allowing police aides with one year of service to become officers once they turn 21.
